There is hereby adopted for the city of Burlington, Washington, the classification of noncharter code city retaining the mayor-council plan of government under which the city of Burlington is currently operating.

The finance director is hereby authorized and directed to forward to the Secretary of State a certified copy of the ordinance codified in this chapter for filing pursuant to RCW 35A.02.040.

Pursuant to RCW 35A.02.040, the city of Burlington shall become classified as a noncharter code city upon the filing with the Secretary of State a certified copy of the ordinance codified in this chapter.
