Editor’s note–Former article II pertaining to technical codes, was repealed and replaced with similar provisions by Ordinance 2025-23 adopted 4/16/2025. Prior to the replacement, this article derived from the following: Ordinance 14-9, adopted 3/5/2014; Ordinance 2020-21 adopted 7/1/2020 and Ordinance 2024-71 adopted 11/6/2024.
(a) 
The city hereby adopts the 2024 edition of International Codes including the appendix chapters by the International Code Council, Inc., to include;
(1) 
International Building Code;
(2) 
International Residential Code for One- and Two-Family Dwellings;
(3) 
International Fire Code;
(4) 
International Wildland Urban Interface Code;
(5) 
International Energy Conservation Code;
(6) 
International Mechanical Code;
(7) 
International Plumbing Code;
(8) 
International Fuel Gas Code;
(9) 
International Private Sewage Disposal Code;
(10) 
International Existing Building Code;
(11) 
International Swimming Pool and Spa Code;
(12) 
International Property Maintenance Code;
(13) 
ICC Performance Code for Building and Facilities;
(14) 
International Green Construction Code.
(b) 
The city hereby adopts the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 101 Life Safety Code, including the annex chapters; and
(c) 
The city hereby adopts the 2023 edition of the National Electric Code (NFPA 70), including the annex chapters.
(d) 
Penalty: Any person, individual corporation, partnership, or entity of any type violating the provisions of these codes shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not less than $1.00 or not to exceed $2,000.00. Each day that a violation occurs or continues to exist, it shall be considered a separate offense.
