One of the officers of the town of Coulee Dam shall be fire chief of the Coulee Dam volunteer fire department.

The fire chief shall be elected by the members of the volunteer fire department, and his term of office shall be one year.

The fire chief shall be elected at the first regular department meeting in April, and he shall take office May 1st. The mayor shall fill any vacancies in the office by appointment of a member, and such appointee shall serve until a successor is elected at the next regular election.
