Editor's Note: Former Ch. 12.32, regarding private wastewater disposal, adopted in 1981 by Ord. No. 622, was repealed 9-21-2010 by Ord. No. 1212.
There is hereby incorporated by reference Chapter 14, Article V and Chapter 23, Article V of the Sedgwick County Code, as amended, and as adopted April 18, 2007 by the Sedgwick County Kansas Commission, 535 N. Main, Wichita, Kansas 67203, which shall be referred to as the "Sedgwick County Code." The Private Wastewater Disposal Code shall include all appendices and codified supplements to the Sedgwick County Code, Chapter 14, Article V and Chapter 23, Article V inclusive as amended is hereby adopted as the private wastewater disposal code for the city of Valley Center, Kansas, and incorporated by reference herein as if fully set out in this section.

Where a public sanitary sewer is not available under the provisions of Section 12.28.040, the building sewer shall be connected to a private wastewater disposal system complying with the provisions of this chapter.

At such time as a public sewer becomes available to a property served by a private wastewater disposal system, as provided in Section 12.32.040, a direct connection shall be made to the public wastewater collection system in compliance with Chapters 12.24 through 12.58, and any septic tanks, cesspools, and similar private wastewater disposal facilities shall be cleaned and filled according to Section 12.32.040.
