It is unlawful for any person to use, operate or engage any compression release engine braking system within the city which is designed to slow the speed of a vehicle by turning the engine into an air compressor (commonly referred to as a Jacobs brake, Jake brake, engine brake, exhaust or compression brake). However, this section shall not apply to fire trucks or other emergency vehicles.
