The general municipal elections of the City shall be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each even-numbered year, commencing with the year 2014. All other municipal elections that may be called under the authority by the general laws shall be known as special elections.
Notwithstanding the two-year term set forth in Chapter 2.04 LMC for the office of the mayor, the mayor's term of office that would have expired in 2013 shall continue until the November 2014 election. Notwithstanding the four-year City Council member term, any Council member whose term of office would have expired as of 2013 shall continue in their offices until the November 2014 election, and any Council member whose term of office would have expired as of 2015 shall continue in their offices until the November 2016 election.
