Snowmobiles:
A motor vehicle designed to travel over ice or snow and supported in part by skis, belts, or cleats.
B. 
Operate:
To control the operation of snowmobile.
C. 
Business district:
The downtown area of the City of Dillingham, consisting of the Dillingham Townsite, (USS 2732 A&B) and the State Hill property, (USS 2262, ASLA 77-119 and ASLS 85-53) as depicted on the official map, excluding the beach and tideland areas (see addendum page Title 11)[1].

D. 
Posted property:
Notice against trespass is given by posting in a reasonably conspicuous manner under the circumstances so as to allow a person approaching the property to recognize that trespassing is prohibited.

Snowmobiles are not allowed on Main Street from Denny Way (Peter Pan) to the intersection with Second Avenue West (City Hall). Snowmobiles are allowed on other city streets within the business district and subdivisions within the city limits with the following provisions:
A. 
All operation must be on the extreme right-hand edge of the traveled way.
B. 
Speed is not to exceed twenty miles per hour within the city rights-of-way.
C. 
Operation on, or parking of, snowmobiles on sidewalks is prohibited.
D. 
Operators must yield the right-of-way to all vehicles and pedestrians.
E. 
Headlight illuminated at all times when using designated routes.
F. 
Snowmobiles must visibly display valid state snowmobile registrations.
G. 
It is unlawful to operate a snowmobile in a careless, reckless or negligent manner so as to endanger or likely to endanger the safety of any person or property of any other person.
H. 
The use of streets in accord with the terms of this section is limited to traveling from one place to another in the most reasonably direct route possible, and no person shall use the streets themselves for recreational purposes.
I. 
Show proficiency of knowledge of rules of the road.

Operation after dark may only be on the right side of a designated snowmobile route and in the same direction as the roadway motor vehicle traffic.

No person under the age of eighteen years shall be allowed to ride, and/or operate, a snowmobile within city limits unless wearing a helmet meeting safety standards set forth by the state.
