The Commission shall prominently post in the office of the Commission or other public place an announcement of the hiring or promotional testing and set forth the time and place of every examination, together with the information as to the type of position to be filled, the requirements for that position, where applications may be obtained, how to properly file an application and the deadline for filing those applications. In addition, at least two weeks before the closing of the application deadline, publication of the notice shall occur in at least one newspaper of general circulation or a newspaper circulating generally in the Borough.
In addition to the public announcement of the examination, the Borough Secretary or their designee shall give written notice to each applicant for an oral examination, after completing the written and physical agility examinations with passing scores, at least five days before the oral examination date. The notice shall be delivered to the applicant on a letterhead by mail, email, or by hand-delivery. The notice shall include the interview date, time, and place. Failure to report for the oral interview in accordance with the written instructions shall disqualify the applicant.
When each examination process is graded, the grades shall be filed with the Commission. A list of names and scores of those who passed the examination shall be posted in the Commission's office or Municipal Building.
As soon as possible, after the completion of the ranking process and the certification of the eligibility list adopted by the Commission, the eligibility list shall be filed in the office of the Commission, and a copy shall be posted in the Commission's office or Municipal Building. The names on the eligibility list shall be arranged from top to bottom in order from the highest final score to the lowest final score for each eligible applicant.
Whenever a person's name is certified from either a furlough list or an eligibility list, the person shall be notified immediately of such certification. The notice shall include the position title and the compensation to be paid. A written reply shall be requested within seven days of the date of mailing concerning whether the person remains interested in the position.
