Pursuant to the provisions of Government Code Section 27550, the County Office of Surveyor is made appointive, effective January 3, 1955. The holder of such office shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors upon recommendation of the Director of the Department of Public Works and the County Administrative Officer.

Pursuant to Business and Professions Code Section 8766.5, the County Surveyor may charge a reasonable fee for examining a record of survey. The fee charged for examining a record of survey is established annually within the unified fee schedule adopted by the Board of Supervisors.
