A swimming pool, spa or hot tub is considered an accessory use and structure for a permitted or conditional use. Each swimming pool, spa or hot tub not within a fully enclosed building must comply with PMC § 18.84.675 through § 18.84.685.

Each swimming pool, spa, or hot tub must be enclosed with a fence at least five feet high and meet all other requirements of Chapter 15.56 PMC. A wall or structure, other than a multifamily dwelling unit, may be used to enclose or partly enclose a pool, spa, or hot tub.

A swimming pool, spa, hot tub, and its accessory mechanical equipment is not permitted in a required front or street side yard, nor within a utility or access easement. A swimming pool, spa, or hot tub is not permitted within five feet of a side or rear property line.

A swimming pool, spa, or hot tub is not included in lot coverage unless it is covered by a roofed structure.
