When, in the opinion of the Director of Public Works, a water meter must be replaced because the water meter is outmoded or inaccessible to Village employees the water meter shall be replaced by Village employees or approved Village contractor.

When the owner or occupant of property containing an outmoded or inaccessible water meter fails to schedule a time during normal business hours when Village employees or approved Village contractor may enter the building to install a new water meter after a written request from the Village or approved Village contractor for such scheduling, or when an owner or occupant of a building schedules an appointment but then fails to keep said appointment and Village employees or approved Village contractor are unable to enter the building to replace the outmoded or inaccessible water meter, the Village shall have authority to disconnect water service to said property until such time as the owner or occupant permits Village employees or approved Village contractor to replace the outmoded or inaccessible water meter contained in said building. If water service is disconnected to said property a reconnection fee will apply.
