The official seal of the city of South Lake Tahoe shall be in the form of a die and/or stamp approximately two inches in diameter.
The city seal consists of a blue circle with oblong spaces surrounding a white circle in which is written "CITY OF SOUTH LAKE TAHOE CALIFORNIA" with two leafy branches on either side of the word "CALIFORNIA." Interior of the white circle is a thin yellow circle, which contains the numerals "19" and "65" on either side of a blue depiction of the outline of Lake Tahoe, divided by a dashed white line, which terminates at a blue eight-petal flower in the lower right quadrant of the lake depiction. The face of which is substantially as set forth below:

The official city logo of the city of South Lake Tahoe consists of a circle which within depicts a yellow-rayed sunrise over snow-outlined dark green Mt. Tallac, dark green pine trees, and a blue variegated Lake Tahoe. Under this circle is written "CITY OF SOUTH LAKE TAHOE" which may or may not be present in conjunction with the city logo. The face of which is substantially as set forth below:

A. 
The city seal and logo are the property of the city of South Lake Tahoe.
B. 
The city clerk is the official custodian of the city seal and will affix the city seal to all certificates and documents as may be required by law, by this code, or by ordinance of the city.
C. 
All other uses of the city seal are restricted to official city business and such other appropriate uses that promote the interests of the city as may be authorized in writing by the city clerk.
D. 
The city manager or designee is the official custodian of the city logo.
E. 
Use of the city logo is restricted to official city business to identify city programs, initiatives, partnerships and sponsorships and such other appropriate uses that promote the interests of the city as may be authorized in writing by the city manager.
F. 
No person may make or use the city seal or logo or any cut, facsimile, or reproduction of the city seal or logo, or make or use any seal or logo or any design which is an imitation, in the design of, or which may be mistaken for the city seal or logo or the design of the city seal or logo, while acting within the scope of their office or employment.
G. 
City officers, city employees, members of the city council, and members of the city boards and commissions may use stationery and printed materials with the city seal or logo, or facsimile of the city seal or logo, while acting within the scope of their office or employment.
H. 
No person, including any elected officer of the city, may use the city seal or logo, or facsimile of the city seal or logo, in any correspondence or other printed materials distributed in favor of or against any candidate for public office.
I. 
Additional City Seals. The South Lake Tahoe city council retains the right to create variations of the city seal or logo and to adopt and establish other official seals or logos. Such variations may include, but are not limited to, centennial seals or logos, or other seals or logos which mark anniversaries, events, and/or any other city occasion the city council wishes to commemorate.
