The following words and phrases when used in this title shall for the purpose of this title have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section.
B. "Holidays" "Loading zone" Official Time Standard. "Park" "Parkway" "Passenger loading zone" "Pedestrian" "Person" "Stop," "Stop," or "stand," "Through street," "Traffic"
Whenever any words or phrases used in this title are not defined in this section, but are now defined in the Vehicle Code of this state, such definitions are incorporated in this section and are deemed to apply to such words and phrases used in this title as though set forth in this section in full.
means legal holidays as established by the laws of the state.
means the space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers or materials.
Whenever certain hours are named in this title, they mean standard time or daylight saving time as may be in current use in this city.
means to stand or leave standing any vehicle, whether occupied or not, otherwise than temporarily for the purpose of, and while actually engaged in, loading or unloading of passengers or materials.
means that portion of a street other than a roadway or a sidewalk.
means the space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers.
means any person afoot.
means every natural person, firm, copartnership, association or corporation.
when required, means complete cessation of movement.
when prohibited, means any stopping or standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic-control device.
as used in this title, is a street or portion thereof at the entrance to which vehicles or traffic from intersecting streets is required by this title to stop before entering or crossing the same, and when stop signs are erected as provided in this title.
means pedestrians, ridden or herded animals, vehicles and other conveyances either singly or together while using any street for purpose of travel.
