The California Wildland-Urban Interface Code, 2025 Edition, as adopted by the California Office of the State Fire Marshal and published by the International Code Council, is adopted by reference as the Wildland-Urban Interface Code of the city (the "CWUIC"), for the purpose of establishing minimum requirements to reduce the likelihood of life and property loss due to a wildfire through the use of performance and prescriptive requirements for construction and development in the Local Responsibility Areas (LRA) designated as a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. All of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of the California Wildland-Urban Interface Code, 2025 Edition, are referred to adopt and made a part of this chapter as though fully set out in this chapter, excepting such portions as are added, deleted, modified or amended by this chapter. The California Wildland-Urban Interface Code is referred to in this chapter as the "CWUIC" and one copy is on file in the office of the city clerk.
