Board of appeals — See Chapter 2.88 of this code.
The city adopts, by reference, the California Plumbing Code ("California Plumbing Code"), including Appendices 1, A, B, D, E, F, I, K, and L, as set forth in Part 5 of Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations, as from time to time amended, subject to the revisions and additions set forth in this chapter, for the purpose of setting forth minimum health and safety regulations for the installation, alteration or repair of plumbing and drainage systems; creating an administrative office and board of appeals; and providing penalties for the violation thereof, and providing for the issuance of permits and the collection of fees therefor; provided, however, that the amounts of any such fees as set forth in the California Plumbing Code are not adopted, but instead all fees authorized or provided for by the California Plumbing Code shall be in an amount established by resolution of the city council.
One copy of the California Plumbing Code is on file in the office of the city building official for public use and examination and, from the operative date of the ordinance codified in this section, the provisions thereof, subject to any amendments adopted by the city, shall be controlling in the installation of all plumbing and drainage systems within the corporate limits of the city.

Section 508.14(1) of the California Plumbing Code is hereby amended by adding the following sentence after the last sentence, based upon express finding of necessity No. 3 set forth in Section XXIII of the ordinance codified in this section[1]:
The elevated platform shall be constructed of concrete, brick, metal or similar non-combustible materials.
