The city adopts, by reference, the Uniform Sign Code, 1997 Edition ("Uniform Sign Code"), which has been published by the International Conference of Building Officials subject to the revisions and additions set forth in this chapter, which, together, constitute the rules and regulations for the purposes of regulating and controlling the design, quality of materials, construction, location, electrification and maintenance of all signs and sign structures not located within a building in the city, providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; provided, however, that the amounts of any such fees as set forth in the Uniform Sign Code are not adopted but, instead, all fees authorized or provided for by the Uniform Sign Code shall be in an amount established by resolution of the city council.
One copy of the Uniform Sign Code is on file in the office of the building official for public use and examination and, from the operative date of the ordinance codified in this section, the provisions thereof, subject to any amendments adopted by the city, shall be controlling within the corporate limits of the city.
