It is unlawful for any person to use any air guns, sling, elastic or spring guns, slingshots, bows, crossbows, darts or any implement or mechanical appliance by which any bullet, shot, stone, dart or other projectile shall be propelled, sprung or thrown by any person, from one place to another, except for the use of spear guns while fishing in the ocean, pursuant to fish and game laws and regulations of the state of California. The cocking, loading, or charging of any weapon mentioned in this section; or the carrying of any cocked, loaded, or charged weapon mentioned herein in any public place other than the waters of the ocean is unlawful.
