A. 
The Mayor shall appoint, with the consent of a majority of all the members of the Governing Body, a Fire Chief who shall be the chief fire protection officer for the City and have direct supervision over all commissioned and non-commissioned employees of the Fire Department.
B. 
The Fire Chief shall have at least eight years of experience in a fire protection capacity and preferably at least three years of experience in administration in an executive capacity.
The Fire Chief shall have all duties and responsibilities conferred upon him or her by state law or the municipal code and such other responsibilities as are contained in the job description.
