Editor’s note–Former article 7.000 pertaining to building and construction permit and inspection fees, was deleted and replaced with similar provisions by Ordinance 1081 adopted 9/9/2024. Prior to the replacement, this article derived from the following: Ordinance 948-A, sec. 1, adopted 3/1/10 and Ordinance 1014, sec. 2, adopted 2/6/17.
(a) 
New residential (1- and 2-family) dwellings construction: The greater of $0.07 per square foot of gross building area or $50.00.
(b) 
Renovation or remodeling, residential (1- and 2-family) dwellings: The greater of $1.00 per $1,000.00 cost or $50.00.
(c) 
New construction other than residential: The greater of $0.12 per square foot of gross building area or $75.00.
(d) 
Renovation or remodeling other than residential: The greater of $1.50 per $1,000.00 cost or $75.00.
(e) 
Contractor registration: $25.00.

(a) 
Residential new construction: 25% of the general permit fee with a $50.00 minimum fee.
(b) 
Commercial new construction: 25% of the general permit fee with a $100.00 minimum fee.
(c) 
Residential remodel construction: $25.00.
(d) 
Commercial remodel construction: $50.00.
(e) 
Review of revised plans for residential and commercial: $25.00.

(a)

Renovation or remodeling, residential (1- and 2-family) dwellings: $30.00.
(c) 
New construction other than residential: $30.00.
(d) 
Renovation or remodeling other than residential: $30.00.
(e) 
No other permit issued: $30.00.

(a) 
The fee for repairs, upgrades and replacements of meters or other city owned equipment or supplies is $30.00.
(b) 
Notwithstanding (a) herein, the fee for every plumbing, mechanical, fuel gas and electrical permit shall be the greater of $0.05 per square foot of gross building area or $30.00.

(a) 
For any permit issued pursuant to Appendix A, Article 7, if more than one inspection is required: $15.00 for each inspection.
(b) 
For any permit issued under Appendix A, Article 7 above, if the project or portion thereof fails to pass inspection, a reinspection fee of $30.00 shall be paid prior to reinspection. If the project or portion thereof fails to pass at the first reinspection, the reinspection fee for each subsequent reinspection shall be $45.00, payable prior to the reinspection.

For either any project for which a permit fee is required under this article, and work is commenced prior to issuance of the permit, or for any inspection or reinspection that is required but not requested and performed:
(a) 
The fee charged will be up to the greater of twice the permit, inspection, or reinspection fee or $100.00, whichever is greater;
(b) 
The subject property will not be connected to utility services provided by the city or by entities providing services pursuant to franchise or other agreements; and
(c) 
The city may, at its discretion, obtain any other and further relief, including but not limited to, temporary and permanent injunctive relief.
