All service sewers shall be tested for leakage in the presence of the Superintendent or his authorized representative.

Service sewers shall be tested by plugging the line on the upstream side of the inspection tee and completely filling the system to the lowest fixture, drain, or cleanout within the building itself. The test shall be continued until the rate of leakage is stabilized and then the leakage shall be measured volumetrically by adding makeup water at the fixture drain or cleanout.

Building sewers, including the side sewer to the point of connection to the public sanitary sewer or private sewage disposal system, shall be watertight at all points.

The final acceptance/leakage test shall be made by the side sewer contractor or owner prior to backfilling the trench at the time of inspection.
