The purpose of the IH district is to provide for areas for general industrial processing and manufacturing uses, subject only to the protection of nearby uses and the required quality of air and water.

The following uses are the only uses permitted in IH districts:
Automobile and metal appliance manufacturing and assembly, structural steel fabricating shops; wholesale glass and wood fabrication and assembly; manufacture of plastic, rubber and metal products;
Minimum setbacks: front, none, but ten feet if abutting a residential district; side and rear, none, but twenty feet if abutting a residential district.
Maximum building height: forty-five feet. A structure higher than forty-five feet requires approval of a conditional use permit in accord with Chapter 18.75.
Solid Waste Receptacles. All solid waste receptacles must be surrounded on at least three sides by a minimum five-foot high sight-obscuring fence or wall. Such enclosures and receptacles are not permitted within required street frontage areas.
