The Town Manager shall appoint a Town Clerk to perform such duties required by the Charter, applicable laws, ordinances, rules, regulations and policies and such other duties as directed by the Town Manager. Before entering upon the duties of the office, the Town Clerk shall take an oath of office. The Town Manager may require, upon conferral with Town Council, that the Town Clerk furnish a bond conditioned upon the faithful performance of his or her duties as Town Clerk in such amounts and with such sureties as appropriate.
