The CB-1 central business district is intended to preserve and enhance areas within which the greatest possible concentration of retail sales and business will occur. The district will be applied to the "downtown core" area based upon the general guidelines established in the comprehensive plan. The buildings and uses permitted reflect the desire to have parking provided on a district-wide basis rather than having each individual building or use provide parking except for CB-1. Uses in this district support a more pedestrian-oriented environment, require less parking and are less automobile-oriented than uses in the HCB zone.
