The position of City Chaplain for the City of Garfield is hereby created in accordance with statutory authority. The position will be a volunteer position under the supervision of the City Manager.

Any person appointed as City Chaplain shall be an ordained clergyman/person in good standing in the religious body from which he/she is selected.
The duties of City Chaplain shall include, but not be limited to, attend City Council meetings and other official or community events as requested by the City Manager or Mayor.
A person appointed as City Chaplain shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and Council up to and through the calendar year in which the appointment is made.
