The urban forestry board shall be composed of five voting members, at least four of which shall be residents of the city. The director of public works and the community development director, or their designees, shall serve as two additional nonvoting ex officio members of the board. Members shall serve without pay and shall be appointed by the mayor with confirmation from the city council. Members shall show an interest in accomplishing the purposes of the board. Membership should include people with expertise in arboriculture, local business persons, utility representatives and residents.
