There is hereby established a Division of Health in the Department of Community Services which shall exercise and perform all the functions, powers and duties devolving by law to local health agencies by Title 26, Health and Vital Statistics, of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey in coordination with the Board of Health.
The Supervisor of the Division of Health shall be the Health Officer, who shall be qualified and appointed as provided by state and local laws. The personnel staff in the Division of Health may include operational, supervisory and managerial positions as deemed necessary within the budgetary limits established by the Council.
