The public works director position is hereby established and shall be appointed by the city manager.

The public works director performs a variety of administrative, supervisory, and professional work in planning, coordinating, and directing the activities of the public works department; performs all duties and exercises all powers pertaining to such office as provided by law and ordinances of the city.
