As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
Any waste generated during the treatment of a patient other than from an individual household source. Sources of medical waste shall include, but not be limited to, offices of physicians, dentists, and veterinarians, medical laboratories, animal hospitals, nursing homes, and hospitals. Types of medical waste shall include, but not be limited to, all instruments, supplies, containers, gloves, tubing, bandages, surgical gowns, and surgical masks. Any such waste which would be classified as hazardous, toxic, pathological, or infectious waste shall be separately disposed of pursuant to the regulations if the New Jersey State Department of Health and the New Jersey State Department of Environmental Protection.
