The 1997 Edition of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, published by the International Conference of Building Officials, is hereby adopted by reference as though fully set forth herein; provided, however, any law enforcement action commenced under a prior code shall remain in full force and effect unless misconduct charged under a prior code is lawful under the newer code.

Section 203, Chapter 2, of the International Conference of Building Officials Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, as adopted by reference in FMC 15.20.010, is amended to read as follows:
VIOLATIONS
Section 203. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure or cause or permit the same to be done in violation of this code. Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this code shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.
