Nothing in this section shall prohibit an individual from providing proper sustenance, food or drink, to any companion animal, as defined in Section 350 of New York State Agriculture and Markets Law. However, if such activities cause a nuisance to any person or otherwise damage and/or interfere with a person’s use and enjoyment of their property then such person may seek recourse in a private cause of action.
