The council may, by resolution or minute order, place and maintain or cause to be placed and maintained such appropriate traffic signs, signals or other traffic control devices as may be authorized under the Vehicle Code. Vehicle Code Sections 21100 et seq. and 21351 et seq. provide some guidance on this subject.
