It is provided that all proved property within the city shall display in a conspicuous place a street number for the improved property, which numbers shall be in accordance with the street numbering plan of the county now in effect, which plan is adopted for the city, and numbers shall be assigned by the city clerk.

This chapter is based upon the police power of the city and the purpose of this chapter is to facilitate police and fire protection within the city.

Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not more than fifty dollars, or imprisoned in the County Jail not more than fifty days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
