There is hereby created, within the Department of Public Works, the position of Building Maintenance Worker for the Township of Lacey, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey.
The Building Maintenance Worker shall be under the direction of the Chairman of the Department of Public Works of the Township Committee and, in addition to performing varied simple and routine tasks involved in the cleaning and maintenance of buildings and grounds, shall perform other related work, such as but not limited to the following:
A. 
Washing and cleaning windows and floors; polishing floors; dusting desks, tables, chairs and other furniture; cleaning business offices, cafeterias, living quarters, bathrooms, halls, gymnasiums, auditoriums, lavatories and other buildings; burning trash in incinerators; and polishing metal fixtures and trimmings.
B. 
May tend low-pressure boilers used to produce hot water and heat.
C. 
Tidying working areas by arranging equipment, materials and articles in an orderly manner.
D. 
Depositing sweepings in trash cans, replacing burned-out light bulbs, servicing water coolers, mowing lawns, trimming hedges, raking and burning leaves and refuse, trimming driveway and sidewalk hedges, using spades and hoes, shoveling snow from driveways and sidewalks and spreading sand, salt and ashes on icy surfaces to prevent slipping in the winter.
E. 
Assisting carpenters, electricians, painters, plumbers and steamfitters by carrying tools and materials, by placing and removing ladders and by cleaning up after work has been completed.
F. 
Keeping simple records related to the above-described work.
The salary or wages for the position of Building Maintenance Worker shall be as determined from time to time by the Township Committee and shall be paid in accordance with the terms and provisions of the Salary Ordinance.[1]
