There is hereby created the position of Assistant
Treasurer.
The duties of the Assistant Treasurer shall
be as follows:
A. Assist the Chief Financial Officer in supervising
and performing the work involved in the disbursement, accounting and
auditing of funds received and disbursed by the Township. Assist in
the negotiation of loans and sale of bonds for the Township.
B. Perform all related work as required by the Chief
Financial Officer.
To be appointed to the position of Assistant
Treasurer, an individual must meet the following requirements:
A. Graduation from a college of recognized standing with
a major course of study in accounting.
B. Four years of varied supervisory accounting experience
and work involving the installation, operation and keeping of large-scale
systems of accounts.
C. Certification as a certified municipal accountant.
D. Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods and
procedures used in modern accounting an auditing, of the laws, rules
and regulations governing the installation, operation and keeping
of accounts and their application to specific situations, and of the
preparation of involved and detailed accounting and other financial
reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations.
E. Ability to analyze complex financial problems, to
give suitable assignments and instructions, to prepare suitable reports,
and to direct the establishment and maintenance of extensive financial
and related records and files.
F. Good health and freedom from disabling physical and
mental defects.
The salary for the position of Assistant Treasurer
shall be determined from time to time by the Township Committee and
shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of the Salary Ordinance
of the Township of Lacey.
