There is hereby created the position of Senior
Clerk Stenographer for the Township of Lacey.
The duties of the Senior Clerk Stenographer are that, under direction, she/he performs responsible and varied stenographic and clerical work of limited complexity requiring knowledge of related functions. The Senior Clerk Stenographer shall be able to perform all of the duties set forth for a Clerk Stenographer in § 79-110 herein. The Senior Clerk Stenographer shall perform such other related work as is required in accordance with direction from superiors.
To be appointed to the position of Senior Clerk
Stenographer, an individual must meet the following requirements:
A.
Possess formal or other education and training showing
attainment of a level represented by matriculation from high school.
B.
Possess considerable knowledge of modern office methods,
practices and equipment and be capable of performing responsible typing
and stenographic tasks.
C.
Possess the ability to comprehend established office
routines, understand and implement rules and regulations of limited
complexity and have the capability to maintain suitable records and
files.
D.
Possess at least one year of experience as a stenographer.
E.
Possess good health and freedom from disabling physical
and mental defects which would impair the proper performance of the
required duties or which might endanger the health and safety of oneself
or others.
The salary for the Senior Clerk Stenographer
shall be determined from time to time by the Township Committee and
shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of the Salary Ordinance
of the Township of Lacey.[1] Until such time as the 1986 Salary Ordinance is adopted,
the Senior Clerk Stenographer shall receive the same salary as the
Clerk Stenographer.
