[Adopted 3-12-2001 by L.L. No. 2-2001 (Ch. 17, Art. IIIA, of the 1981 Code)]
A. 
Section 3-301, Subdivision 1c, of the Village Law of the State of New York is hereby amended in its application to the Village of Great Neck Estates, to read as follows: "c. a Village Administrator."
B. 
Section 3-301, Subdivision 1d, of the Village Law of the State of New York is hereby repealed in its application to the Village of Great Neck Estates.
C. 
Pursuant to the authority granted by § 3-301, Subdivision 2c, of the Village Law of the State of New York, the office of Village Administrator is hereby established in the Village of Great Neck Estates.
D. 
The Village Administrator shall have the powers and duties of the Village Clerk and the Village Treasurer, as may be provided in the Village Law or any other statute, law, rule or regulation of the State of New York or as may be provided by this Code. Any reference in any statute, law, rule or regulation or code to the Village Clerk, Treasurer or Clerk-Treasurer shall be deemed to be a reference to the Village Administrator. The Village Administrator also shall have such other powers and duties as may be designated or assigned from time to time by the Mayor or Board of Trustees in the manner authorized by law.
E. 
The Village Administrator shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees, to serve at the pleasure of the Mayor. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, with the consent of the Board of Trustees, the Village Administrator shall not be required to be a resident of the Village of Great Neck Estates, but shall be a resident of the County of Nassau or a county which adjoins the County of Nassau.

F. 
Section 3-302, Subdivisions 3 and 4, of the Village Law of the State of New York are hereby expressly superseded by this section, to the extent that any provisions of the Village Law may be inconsistent with the provisions of this section.

The Village of Great Neck Estates hereby establishes the public office of Deputy Village Clerk. The Deputy Village Clerk shall be appointed in the same manner as the Village Administrator, to serve at the pleasure of the Mayor. The Deputy Village Clerk shall not be required to be a resident of the Village of Great Neck Estates but shall be a resident of the County of Nassau or a county which adjoins the County of Nassau.

The Village of Great Neck Estates hereby establishes the public office of Deputy Village Treasurer. The Deputy Village Treasurer shall be appointed in the same manner as the Village Administrator, to serve at the pleasure of the Mayor. The Deputy Village Treasurer shall not be required to be a resident of the Village of Great Neck Estates but shall be a resident of the County of Nassau or a county which adjoins the County of Nassau.[1]
