As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
AMUSEMENT CENTER GAMES
Any coin-controlled amusement devices of any description operated for gain, commonly known as but not limited to bagatelle, baseball, football, Skee-Ball, iron-claw, pinball and computer video games. Such definition also includes such games as would be ordinarily coin-controlled or operated for gain but which are operated by a system designed to obviate compliance with this article. This definition shall exclude any device, possession or use of which is otherwise prohibited by law and shall also exclude weighing machines and automatic music devices such as phonographs, player pianos, jukeboxes and similar such devices.
No person shall maintain or permit the operation of an amusement center game without first having obtained a license for same as hereinafter provided. The maintenance and operation of such amusement center game shall be in accordance with the restrictions and requirements of said license.[1]

The City Clerk is hereby authorized to issue a license for amusement center games. The license fee per year, or any part thereof, shall be as established by the Common Council, per machine, which license may be transferable to other machines. The license shall expire on the 30th day of April next succeeding the date of issuance thereof.

Any person who shall permit an amusement center game to be operated in violation of the provisions of this article shall be guilty of a violation punishable by imprisonment for a term not to succeed 15 days or by a fine not to exceed $250, or by both such fine and imprisonment. The continuation of an offense against the provisions of this article shall constitute, for each day the offense continues, a separate and distinct violation.
