Vertical piping shall be secured at sufficiently close intervals, with a hub rest where practicable, to carry the weight, at least on every other floor, and to keep the pipe in alignment.
Vertical drainage piping shall also be supported at the base of the stack.

Horizontal piping shall be supported at points sufficiently close to keep in alignment and prevent sagging, but at intervals not to exceed 10 feet.
All piping in a plumbing system shall be installed without undue strains and stresses and provision made for expansion, contraction and structural settlement.
Hangers shall be made of suitable material of adequate strength to support the pipe and its contents and shall be securely attached to the building construction without the use of wooden pegs.
Underground piping shall be laid for its entire length on a firm bed of approved material and shall be supported in such manner that undue stress on pipe and joints will be prevented.
Bases or risers and horizontal runs may be supported on substantial masonry piers.
