Application for a water connection shall be
made at the office of the Department of Public Works by the agent,
upon the form provided. These rules and regulations shall govern every
application and will be supplied upon request. Where necessary, building
and/or site plans must be submitted at the time of making application,
for the purpose of determining location. A service shall serve property
owned by the applicant only.
The Department of Public Works assumes no responsibility
for furnishing water to any City lot, parcel of land or building which
does not have frontage on a street in which there is a water main.
Premises will be served with water only through
a service from the main in the street on which the lot has frontage,
except that when there is no main in the street, the owner of the
lot may, with the written consent of the owner of a lot on an adjoining
street, obtain water from the adjoining street.
Whenever required by the Department of Public
Works, the applicant shall furnish prints of existing and proposed
water lines and such additional information as may be necessary for
the Department to determine the size of the service and the necessary
changes in the piping schedule.
Application must be made for the use of water
for the erection, repairing or altering of any building or structure
and for any other purpose that requires the temporary use of water
from a fire hydrant or unmetered service.
