A Township Planning Commission, composed of not fewer than six members nor more than nine members, as the Board of Commissioners may from time to time designate by resolution, who shall be appointed in the manner provided by law, is hereby created and established in and for the Township of Lower Moreland.
Said Township Planning Commission may exercise all the powers and shall perform all the duties vested by law in planning agencies for townships of the first class, provided that the individuals comprising the Township Planning Commission now functioning in the Township shall constitute the Planning Commission hereby created and established until a resolution is adopted by the Township Commissioners changing the number thereof.
A. 
Nothing in this chapter shall affect the tenure of any member of the present Planning Commission, but all vacancies hereafter occurring in said Planning Commission, regardless of the cause thereof, shall be filled according to the provisions of the law governing planning agencies in the townships of the first class at the time of the occurrence of such vacancy.
B. 
At all times there shall be at least one resident from each ward in Lower Moreland Township serving as a member of the Township Planning Commission, and, in the event that a vacancy occurs which results in a ward being unrepresented, such vacancy shall be filled promptly.
