In either event, the regulation of traffic or parking directed by such resolution shall take effect immediately upon the vote of the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees may reject the resolution of the Traffic Authority, in which event the regulations of traffic or parking established by the resolution shall not take effect. If the Board of Trustees shall not act with reference to the resolution of the Traffic Authority at the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees to which the resolution is presented, the resolution shall remain on the agenda of the Board of Trustees at each regular meeting thereafter until it shall have been acted upon.
By its resolution, the Traffic Authority may designate the placement of parking meters within the confines of the Village, may direct the placement of traffic control signals and signs within the confines of the Village and shall act in all matters necessary to provide for the safety and well-being of the residents of the Incorporated Village of Bellerose, with reference to traffic and parking.
All regulations, ordinances and local laws heretofore enacted by the Incorporated Village of Bellerose with reference to the movement of traffic and the parking of vehicles, including those relating to the placement of parking meters, shall remain in full force and effect after the adoption of this chapter, unless and until they shall be changed by the Traffic Authority pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.
