[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees

The tennis courts will be prepared for use beginning
May 1, and the playing season will extend to and include October 31.
Play will be permitted daily from 8:00 a.m.
until sundown, subject to weather conditions.
Permission to use the courts will be granted
by permit to residents of the Incorporated Village of Bellerose who
obtain and pay the prescribed season fee for the permit. The permit
will be subject to revocation or suspension for any infraction of
the rules, for disorderly conduct, damaging property, improper costume,
the violation of the ordinary rules of courtesy and fair play and/or
for any cause which the Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village
of Bellerose may deem sufficient. Parents shall be held responsible
for the conduct of their children on the courts. The holder of a permit
which has been revoked or suspended will forfeit the amount of the
fee and the privilege to play during the current season. However,
the Board of Trustees may, in its discretion, restore to the holder
of a suspended permit the privilege to use the courts and may fix
the effective date of restoration.
A.
Players shall be divided into two classes, viz., seniors
and juniors. Juniors shall be children up to and including 18 years
of age and up to and including 21 years of age if attending school.
All other players shall be seniors.
B.
The permits will be divided into the same two classes,
viz., senior and junior, and will be available only to residents of
the Incorporated Village of Bellerose.

The regular fee for a permit will be in the
amount established by the Board of Trustees, by duly adopted resolution,
for the season or any part thereof.

Guests of a permit holder will be permitted
to play, when accompanied by such permit holder, upon obtaining a
guest permit and paying a fee in the amount established by the Board
of Trustees by duly adopted resolution. Guests will be subject to
all the rules and regulations governing permit holders, and permit
holders shall be responsible for the conduct of guests on the courts.
A guest permit will be issued to the same guest only once in each
two weeks.
A.
Seniors will have exclusive use of the courts on Monday
to Friday inclusive from 5:00 p.m. to sundown, on Saturdays from 1:00
p.m. to sundown and all day on Sundays and holidays and may play at
other times, provided that a court or courts are free and no juniors
are waiting to play.
B.
Juniors will have exclusive use of the courts on Monday
to Friday inclusive, except holidays, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and may play at other
times, provided that a court or courts are free and no seniors are
waiting to play.
C.
Seniors and juniors who and while they are playing
together will be permitted to play during the time allotted to either
class.
D.
Players who are trespassing on the time allotted to
the other class of players will relinquish the court upon completion
of the set in progress if it is claimed by the holder of a permit
entitled to exclusive use, who is ready to play.
E.
The Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village
of Bellerose may grant exclusive use of a court for the purpose of
tournament or match play to any group of permit holders who are competing
in a local tournament or in matches sponsored by an association of
recognized amateur standing.
All permits will be paid for and obtained through
the office of the Village Clerk or at the police booth.
A.
A Village police officer will be in charge and will
see that all players have a permit.
B.
It is desired to give all permit holders equal opportunity
to play, and if the courts are all engaged, any player or set of players
who have completed two consecutive sets must relinquish their court
in favor of those waiting to play.
C.
Regulation rubber-soled tennis shoes without heels
must be worn.
D.
An upper garment must be worn at all times, and players
are requested to wear proper tennis attire.
E.
A Village police officer will rule as to when the
court or courts are in condition for play.
F.
The Incorporated Village of Bellerose will not be
responsible for loss or damage to the property or person of permit
holders or visitors at Marsh Field.
The Board of Trustees may, in its discretion,
make amendments of or additions to these rules and regulations.
