Article I False and Unnecessary Alarms

§ 60-1 Definitions.

As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:

FALSE OR UNNECESSARY ALARM

Any alarm resulting from the activation of an alarm device to which the Police Department or the Fire Department of the Village of Pelham Manor responds and which is not the result of a robbery, burglary or other crime or fire or other emergency.

§ 60-2 Charge for false alarms.

A. Any owner, lessee or occupant of property having an alarm device on the premises of that property shall pay to the Village of Pelham Manor a charge for false alarms as follows:

	Three false alarms within any three consecutive calendar months	$50
	Four false alarms within any four consecutive calendar months	$100
	Additional false alarms within any four consecutive months	$100

B. The above charges will be collected by the Village Manager of the Village of Pelham Manor.

§ 60-3 Payment of charges.

It shall be unlawful to cause false or unnecessary alarms and not pay the charges specified above within 60 days of the date of notice from the Village Manager detailing such charges.
