Editor's Note: This local law was approved at a referendum held
11-8-1977.
This chapter is enacted pursuant to the authority of Article 9-A of
the General Municipal Law of the State of New York, and shall be known as
the "Games of Chance Law of the Town of New Lebanon."
The words and terms used in this chapter shall have the same meaning
as such words and terms are used in Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law.
A.Â
Restrictions. Games of chance may be conducted in the
town by an authorized organization, after obtaining a license therefor, in
accordance with the provisions, requirements and limitations of Article 9-A
of the General Municipal Law, the rules and regulations of the New York State
Racing and Wagering Board and this chapter.
B.Â
The conduct of games of chance on Sundays is prohibited.

The chief law enforcement officer for purposes of Article 9-A of the
General Municipal Law for the conduct of games of chance in the Town of New
Lebanon shall be the office of the Sheriff of Columbia County.
This chapter shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary
of State after approval thereof by the voters of the town voting thereon at
a general election.
