The Board of Supervisors of said Township may, from time to time, amend, supplement, change, modify or repeal this chapter, including the Zoning Map, by proceeding in the following manner:
The Board of Supervisors, by resolution adopted at a regular or special meeting, shall fix the time and place of a public hearing on the proposed amendment.
The Board of Supervisors shall cause public notice to be given to said meeting by publication thereof in a newspaper of general circulation in the Township as required by the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, as amended.

The notice shall contain a brief summary setting forth the principal provisions of the proposed ordinance in such reasonable detail as will give adequate notice of its contents and a reference to the place or places within the Township where copies of the proposed amendment to the ordinance may be examined.
A copy of the proposed ordinance shall be on file in the office of the Township Secretary for inspection during reasonable business hours.
Whenever the owners of 50% of the frontage within an area proposed to be rezoned shall present to the Board of Supervisors a petition duly signed and acknowledged, requesting an amendment, supplement, change, modification or repeal of the regulations prescribed for that district or area or an amendment of the Zoning Map, it shall be the duty of the Township Board of Supervisors to hold public hearing thereon and to follow the proceedings required by the Municipalities Planning Code.
