A.
The
Council shall appoint the members of the Advisory Board of Health,
who shall serve without compensation for the terms prescribed by local
ordinance. It shall have, perform and exercise all of the functions,
powers and duties as provided by municipal ordinance as set forth
below.
B.
There
shall be an Advisory Board of Health which shall consist of the following
members appointed by the Township Council:
(1)
Seven regular members for terms of three years;
(2)
Two alternate members for terms of two years, except that the terms
of the alternate members first appointed shall be two years for Alternate
No. 1 and one year for Alternate No. 2, so that the term of not more
than one alternate member shall expire in any one year;
(3)
One nonvoting student member for a term of one year;
(4)
One member of the Township Council who shall serve as liaison to
the Township Council, and who shall be appointed for a period of one
year.
C.
Members shall serve for their respective terms and until their successors
thereafter have been appointed and qualified.
D.
In the event of a vacancy in the membership of the Advisory Board
of Health occurring during the unexpired term of office, a person
shall be appointed as a member of said body to serve for such unexpired
term.
The Board shall consult with the Health Officer on matters of
public health and shall also study the health needs of the Township
and make reports and recommendations to the Council for local legislative
actions.
