All gas pipes and fixtures shall be installed only by:
A.
A duly licensed master plumber; or
B.
A public utility which furnishes the utility service for which said fixture is intended to be used.
All gas pipings and fittings shall be sound and free from sand holes. No gas fitter's wax cement shall be used.
All gas pipes shall be carefully hooked or strapped so that the fittings are not strained by weight.
Gas fittings shall be used in making turns.
Leaking fittings and pipes shall be removed.
Only long screws or right and left couplings may be used in concealed piping.
Pipes shall be so run that there shall be no "trappings." All pipes shall be run so that they grade back to the risers and thence to the meters.
The Plumbing Inspector shall examine all gas piping after it has been completed but before it has been closed in. A pressure test of five pounds per square inch, "10 inches of mercury column," shall be applied. After the work passes such test and complies with standard good practice, a certificate of approval shall issue upon request. For each inspection of gas piping and fixture installation, a fee of $2 shall be paid.
