The Town of LaGrange, through its special water
improvement districts, operates and maintains several public water
systems, and the municipality expects to establish other such systems
or to extend its existing systems in the future. The purpose of this
article is to authorize rules and protocols to be adopted from time
to time by the Town Board by resolution to:
By resolution, the Town Board is empowered to
adopt such protocols and rules, as it deems advisable, to address
connections to its public water supply systems, and such regulations
may address connection requirements, metering and backflow prevention.
Such protocols shall not address generally prevailing water usage
regulations set forth in this chapter, and the regulations in this
chapter shall not apply to connection to the Town's public water supply
systems.
Violations of the protocols established hereunder by the Town Board shall be punishable under the terms equivalent to those set forth in § 233-27 of this chapter.
