[Adopted 2-24-1999 by L.L. No. 1-1999 (Ch. 98, Art. VII, of the 1975 Code)]
The Town of LaGrange, through its special water improvement districts, operates and maintains several public water systems, and the municipality expects to establish other such systems or to extend its existing systems in the future. The purpose of this article is to authorize rules and protocols to be adopted from time to time by the Town Board by resolution to:
A.
Address connection to and metering of connections to such public water supplies;
B.
To give notice to the public of the existence that such protocols may be established hereunder; and
C.
To render violations of such protocols punishable under provisions equivalent to those in § 233-27 of this chapter.
By resolution, the Town Board is empowered to adopt such protocols and rules, as it deems advisable, to address connections to its public water supply systems, and such regulations may address connection requirements, metering and backflow prevention. Such protocols shall not address generally prevailing water usage regulations set forth in this chapter, and the regulations in this chapter shall not apply to connection to the Town's public water supply systems.
Violations of the protocols established hereunder by the Town Board shall be punishable under the terms equivalent to those set forth in § 233-27 of this chapter.
