There is hereby created the office of Deputy Township Clerk. Said Deputy Township Clerk shall be appointed by the Township Committee and shall hold office for a term of one year commencing January 1 of each year. Appointment to said office shall not prevent said Deputy Township Clerk from holding any other office or appointment in the Township, the powers of which shall not be inconsistent with said position of Deputy Township Clerk.
The Deputy Township Clerk shall receive a compensation to be fixed in the annual Salary Ordinance and to be paid at the time and in the same manner as other Township officials are paid.
The Deputy Township Clerk shall have all the powers and perform all the duties of the Township Clerk during such times and for such periods as the Township Clerk shall be absent, and in addition thereto, said Deputy Township Clerk shall do and perform such other duties as may be required of him or her by direction of the Township Committee or the Township Clerk.
